Highlights

1. New Fine-Tuned Local Model

A new fine-tuned model now powers the local assistant. To use it, select "Daily assistant" in the AI model settings. It now returns only the refined text without adding extra phrases, and better retains the format of the input text (e.g. bullet lists).

2. Improved AI Polish for Dictation

The new model is also used for dictation when the "AI Polish" toggle is enabled. It is slower than the previous model, but delivers higher accuracy and better refinements. Recommendation: enable AI Polish for email dictations and keep it off for faster, everyday dictation.

3. Enhanced Explicit Punctuation Mode

Explicit punctuation mode is now more accurate. The added precision requires more computation, which can slightly slow down dictation. Recommendation: keep using automatic punctuation unless you prefer to dictate every punctuation mark manually.

4. Custom Shortcuts for Writing Assistant

You can now configure custom shortcuts for all writing assistant modes.

Other Improvements

• Simplified model picker for the writing assistant. The local option now includes only the fine-tuned model. Cloud models remain available.
• Fixed an onboarding issue.
• You can now preview the initialization status of the writing assistant if it has not yet been initialized.
